Due to the extremely chilly weather, veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani has decided not to attend the Ayodhya Ram Mandir opening event. Regarding his attendance at the Ram Mandir pran pratishtha function on January 22, there has been doubt.
Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi are unlikely to attend the event because of their age and health, according to a statement made by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra foundation last month.
Last month, Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, told reporters, “Both are elders of the family and considering their age, they were requested not to come, which was accepted by both both.” Nonetheless, a senior of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) declared earlier in January that Advani will be present for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.
Alok Kumar, the working president of the VHP International, informed the news agency ANI that Advani will get the necessary medical care and accommodations. Advani and Joshi were invited by the VHP to the Ayodhya event in December.
Advani led the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi campaign for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya alongside his colleague Murli Manohar Joshi and the late Ashok Singhal, the former head of the VHP. Lord Rama is said to have been born at Ayodhya.
After residing in a temporary structure, Ram Lalla will eventually move inside the recently constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Monday. After today’s pran pratishtha ritual, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to unveil the blindfold on Ram Lalla’s idol at about 12:30.
